Introducing Charles Mwale
This is Charles Mwale, born on 7th April 1998, a second born in a family of two. Charles, a double orphan who lost his parents in 2004, left his paternal aunt who continues to be his known guardian. He aunt was unable to sufficiently provide for their needs as she was not in gainful employment and was caring for nine of her own children. With these challenges his aunt enrolled him and his sibling into the Chishawasha Children's Home (Z) resident program in 2006. Upon arrival, Charles was enrolled into grade one at Collin B Glassco School where he undertook primary school education up to grade 7. He was later enrolled at North Park School where he pursued his grade 8 to 12 and finally completed his grade 12 and attained a fully GCE certificate in 2017.
Charles was later enrolled at DMI St Eugene University in 2019 where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in food production and nutrition. Charles is one of the students who with support from Chishawasha Children’s Home of Zambia is being supported for tuition and education related expenses and is currently undertaking the second semester of the 4-year program.
Charles continues to be part of Chishawasha Children’s Home of Zambia both as a beneficiary and a volunteer where he has requested to provide administrative and operations support to the secretariat at CCHZ. Charles is seen in the picture above on morning of 23rd September 2019 reconciling receipts for the third term for Colin B Glassco Primary School before going to his university for classes. His classes run at different times of the day and whenever he has time and no examinations, he enjoys supporting the office.
